Description
- Capital Forecast
- Forecast monthly capital for significant OOR projects, liaising with operators, as necessary.
- Prepare quarterly capital spending report to update region teams on progress against annual budget targets.
- Track OOR activity working with Land and Subsurface teams.
- Ensure accurate forecasting by working with Land and Accounting on interests for new OOR drill wells.
- AFE management
- Review and make recommendations on OOR workover AFEs.
- Collaborate with the subsurface team to oversee the development of recommendations for participation in externally operated drilling projects. This involves actively supporting data gathering and supporting economic assessments.
- Capital look-back reviews
- Generate project economics in PHDWin and update the look-back database with actual results.
- Analyze and explain variances compared to prior look-backs and economics used to justify projects.
- Operating budget process
- Assist in forecasting oil, gas, and LOE on OOR properties.
- Monitor actual results for new OOR wells, investigating and resolving variances and data inconsistencies.
- Prepare monthly OOR production estimates for revenue accruals.
- OOR P&L analysis
- Coordinate monthly OOR P&L review.
- Investigate P&L variances and communicate with other departments or operators as required.
- Ad Hoc Analysis:
- Execute various ad hoc operational and financial analysis tasks to support Strategic Planning/OOR initiatives.
- Managing PHDWin databases:
- Work with PHDWin data structure, export mechanisms, and the integration of this data into various tools and processes.
- Streamline the exporting and reporting of data, focusing on concise one-line summaries from PHDWin and optimizing the generation of reports

- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in managing and analyzing large datasets using databases and spreadsheets; demonstrated proficiency in Excel.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and applying available data to solve business problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across hierarchies and functions (e.g., operations, reservoir engineering, finance).
- Fast learner with ability to take direction and execute tasks independently.
- Disciplined project management capabilities adept at managing multiple responsibilities concurrently.
- Desire to learn/develop professional capabilities in the energy industry.
- Strong work ethic, commitment, and passion for teamwork, integrity, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Prior experience with oil & gas reserve economic evaluation applications (e.g., PHDWin, OGRE, Aries, Peep)
Desirable qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
- Experience with database architecture (e.g., SQL, Microsoft Access).
- Experience with oil and gas operations
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s of Science degree in engineering or relevant STEM or finance discipline from an accredited institution.
