Responsibilities
Analysis and Development:
Lead and manage Application projects and assist/mentor the Infrastructure group with the planning and management of their projects.
Work with project sponsors to prepare project charters and plans including cost and time estimates necessary to obtain approval for projects
Design and develop custom solutions following SDLC/PM methodologies to analyze, design, develop, test and deploy solutions
Work with user personnel to identify business requirements needed to evaluate solutions or identify enhancements
Analyze existing applications to propose enhancements to application software vendors
Prepare and assist user personnel to execute test plans
Communications:
Prepare and deliver concise, accurate Project Status Reports
Prepare and deliver thorough Staff and Project Meetings reports depicting summary of overall activities and highlights of assigned projects
Prepare and deliver discussions on selected topics to corporate wide audiences at COGC Technical Conference and/or Vendor User Conferences
Support:
Independently work with user department personnel to identify and resolve problems
Coordinate problem resolution with application software vendor
Technical:
Basic knowledge of SQL, Stored Procedures and SSIS Packages
•8-12 years professional experience required, including Upstream Oil & Gas application and IT knowledge and support
•2-3 years of experience required managing IT related projects. Including but not exclusive to software and hardware implementations and company wide
IT initiatives
•Strong project management and project leadership capabilities Analytic thinking that can quickly grasp complex data and process relationships
•Strong desire for teamwork and learning
•Ability to work independently
•Ability to manage a project involving participants from multiple departments
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with executives, managers and corporate and region personnel
•Ability to prioritize and handle multiple job assignments medium to large scope
•Ability to manage and lead a project using external resources including scope, effort and cost management
Qualifications
Four-year degree in Information Systems or Business Administration required.
