Description
Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department in the areas of Payroll Processing, Personnel Data Maintenance, Time & Attendance Records, and Compliance Audit and Testing.
Responsibilities
•Input and audit all HR and Benefit employee data relative to the new/rehired employee set-up in both ADP and eTime, status/salary changes, employee and dependent benefit enrollment and changes. in the payroll and time & attendance systems.
•Prepare and complete payroll input to transmit payroll on a timely basis for each semimonthly pay cycle and special one-off pay cycle request.
•Initiate hours import into the payroll system from time and attendance system and reconciles the overtime hours.
•Reconcile and balances hours according to earning codes.
•Audit pre and post processing payroll reports.
•Assist with outstanding reconciling items related to payroll utilities such as tax, bank rec, GL, and garnishments.
•Prepare on-demand manual checks, when needed.
Prepare ad-hoc report request from departments and management
•Participate in annual and periodic audits, as required (Worker’s Comp, 401(k), Internal Controls).
•Participate in annual testing events, as required (TaxSaver, 401(k).
•Develop and maintains administrative procedures relative to the function of this position.
•Maintain complete understanding of all applicable federal/state laws related to payroll, including but not limited to overtime, garnishments, and taxes.
Qualifications
3 to 5 years proven payroll experience in a computerized multi-state payroll function. Demonstrates knowledge of payroll processes, calculations, and functions.
Must have strong understanding of federal/state payroll laws and an analytical ability with aptitude for detail and systems. Performs work under light supervision and has the ability to multi-task, maintain strong organizational skills, manage time effectively, and accept changing priorities.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office technology and proficient in MS Excel is required. Experience with ADP and time management systems is desired.
A Bachelor’s degree preferred or 3 to 5 years proven work experience in Payroll.
