In order to properly transfer mineral interest or leasehold ownership, we need a copy of Probate proceedings issued by a court within the STATE where the property is located. However, it is to your benefit to record documents in County where property is located.

Who do I contact regarding payments of invoices?

When are revenue checks mailed?
Revenue checks are mailed around the 20th of each month.
What do I do if I did not receive a revenue check?
Citation normally remits checks when the amounts due exceed $100.00 or once per year around April 20th regardless of the amount. Please contact the Owner Relations inquiry line at 281.891.1080. Be sure to clearly state your name, payee number, phone number and how you prefer that we respond to your question.
Can I have my royalty check deposited directly to my bank account?
We can direct payment by check to your bank, but at this time we cannot automatically deposit royalty payments to your bank account. Currently, the most effective way for us to ensure that all royalty owners are properly informed of all data which we are required to provide is to print the information on paper and to include it with their monthly royalty payment.
I have lost my check. What do I do?

What do I do if I find a check that is more than 90 days old?
Our bank will not honor checks that have been outstanding for more than 90 days (stale dated). If an owner discovers that their check is stale dated, they should return the check to the above address to the attention of Revenue Department.
If the returned check has not previously been reissued to the owner, it will be voided and the entire amount of the check will be credited to the owner's account. The amount credited will then be repaid to the owner on the next regularly scheduled check write process.
What happens to a stale dated check if I don't return it to you?
For each owner's protection, stale dated checks are voided and stop payments are issued. A periodic review is performed to determine if outstanding checks for each owner reflect a trend, or are only a one-time occurrence. If, for any account, only one check is stale dated at the time of our review, that check will be voided and repaid to the rightful owner on the next regularly scheduled check write process regardless of whether the owner has notified us about it.
However, if a trend of outstanding checks appears to be developing, monthly payments may be suspended until we are provided with written documentation to support payment to the rightful owner or until the rightful owner assures us in writing that the address is correct and that future checks will be cashed.
When are suspended payments considered to be unclaimed property?
An account's dormancy period varies by state from 1 to 5 years. If amounts remain suspended for the requisite length of time, the funds are considered unclaimed property and must, by law be forwarded to the state of last known address in accordance with its unclaimed property statutes. The rightful owner must then file the necessary paperwork with the state to reclaim those funds.

How do I transfer my interest to someone else?
A properly prepared and appropriate conveyance document describing the land/interest being conveyed and filed of record in the county where the property is located needs to be provided to Citation.
I recently acquired an interest in property which is operated by or has funds distributed by Citation. What do I need to do?
Citation needs to be provided with an appropriate conveyance document describing the land/interest being conveyed which has been filed of record in the county where the property is located. Citation also needs to be provided with a complete and signed W9 of the acquiring party.
My name has changed. What do I need to do?
- Individual name change - Provide copy of marriage certificate, divorce decree reinstating maiden name or other court document indicating name change.
- Company or corporation name change - Provide appropriate documentation showing name change, such as certificate of merger or certificate of name change, filed with the appropriate governmental office, including, if applicable, documentation showing new Tax ID number.
